About On Point Garage Doors in Gwinnett County
We repair and install garage doors across the Gwinnett County. The visit to look at your door is free, the estimate is written, and nothing gets done until you have seen it.
How we work
- Diagnosis comes first. A door that will not open has a handful of likely causes, and which one it is changes the job completely. We look before we quote.
- The estimate is written and given in person. No numbers over the phone, because a number given before anyone has seen the door is a guess.
- You decide after. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation to book the work.
Local rules
A straight door-for-door replacement in an existing opening generally does not require a building permit. What does: changing the size of the opening, altering or replacing the header, structural work to the surrounding wall, and electrical work run for a new opener circuit. The unincorporated county authority is the Gwinnett County Department of Planning and Development at One Justice Square in Lawrenceville. Note that many addresses in this county are inside a city rather than in unincorporated Gwinnett, and Lawrenceville, Duluth, Norcross, Peachtree Corners, Suwanee, Buford, Sugar Hill, Snellville, Grayson, Dacula and Loganville each run their own permit desk. Stone Mountain and Tucker are DeKalb County entirely, and Loganville straddles the Gwinnett and Walton county line.
